Shanghai, June 2026 — The 19th SNEC International PV Exhibition has drawn to a close. Foundation structures for ground-mounted PV power stations attracted tremendous attention from overseas EPC general contractors. The highlight at Handan Zhongtang Group New Energy’s booth was solar ground screws, an eco-friendly standardized solution that meets construction demands for large-scale ground, mountain, desert and tidal flat photovoltaic projects worldwide.
The global renewable energy market has seen consistent rising demand for screw pile foundations in 2026. Industry experts point out that traditional concrete footings are being replaced by solar ground screws due to lengthy construction periods, high earthwork costs, and incompatibility with frozen, sandy and peat soil conditions. Requiring no concrete pouring, solar ground screws can be installed within hours using standard machinery, retain full bearing capacity under extreme temperature fluctuations, and comply with Russia’s GOST construction codes as well as European building standards.
Zhongtang displayed a full size range of ground screws, including U-type, flange-type and standard FY48 series solar ground screws. All products are fabricated from Q235B structural steel with hot-dip galvanizing treatment. The anti-corrosion coating thickness passes salt spray testing, guaranteeing a service life of up to 25 years. A special variant fitted with reinforced blades is custom-developed for permafrost regions across Russia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan. It boasts superior pull-out and tensile test performance, tailored to heavy snow and high wind loads in northern latitudes.
During the exhibition, the manufacturer held in-depth negotiations with major EPC contractors from Russia, Central Asia, Argentina and the Middle East. Clients highly valued the complete package supply model: solar ground screws are delivered as a full set matching Zhongtang self-produced ground brackets and PV clamps. This integrated supply eliminates the hassle of coordinating multiple suppliers, cutting logistics costs and shortening project implementation cycles.
The company’s production base is located in the Yongnian fastener industrial cluster, enabling a full in-house manufacturing workflow: steel blanking, precision blade welding, hot-dip galvanizing and finished product packaging. The factory rapidly fulfills large-volume export orders and offers customized modifications on request, including adjustable pile shaft length, variable screw blade quantities and customized galvanizing thickness to meet national load codes of different countries. Several memorandums of understanding for long-term bulk supply of solar ground screws were signed with partners from Russian-speaking regions during the expo.
